Paying It Forward: A New Level of Commitment

Paying It Forward – takes a real commitment at a new level. 

To really make a difference  – to change the world for more than a generation at a time – takes a new level of commitment. 

What kind of commitment are we talking about?  Let me share with you what I think this commitment looks like.

 

 

Commitment # 1    Prayer 

To change the world for generations to come will require a new commitment to prayer.  This prayer commitment will consist of praise, focus and intentionality.  It will praise God for all the blessings – for all his being – all his presence.  It will focus on what God really desires for us as individuals and as a church.  It will be intentional – as we listen to God’s desire as much or more than we share our desires. 

Commitment # 2:  Worship

To change the world for generations to come will take worship that comes from our hearts to God’s ears.   Worship that emanates throughout every part of our lives so that every life we touch will sense our honoring of God.

Commitment # 3:   Discipleship

 A commitment to discipleship is a commitment to grow in our faith – to study scriptures and to put what we learn to use in service to others, to grow in our faith so that others can learn from us.

Commitment # 4:  Sacrificial Giving

Giving is an intricate part our faith life.  Sacrificial giving is stepping up beyond what we are doing now in order to have a greater impact on our world.  To really pay it forward we must give more than we have given before and give until it changes our world.  (you thought I was going to say “hurt”)  Sacrificial giving is where we give in order to bless others instead of blessing ourselves. 

This is a new level of commitment – and this is Paying it Forward!
