The Challenge Continued

15 minutes a day to a changed life.

It is a big promise.  But here’s what I am hearing already.  “The bible says that?  I have always believed that!”  And “I can read the bible everyday.”  And “I couldn’t stop reading!”  And as your Pastor I can say that I have been encouraged everyday too!  When we read together (insert nearly any activity) we as a church grow together.  So this week the challenge is Matthew 8-10.  Read everyday, maybe the whole thing – maybe just a few lines over and over again.  Look for what is speaking directly to you.  Listen to the words.  How do they move you emotionally?  Do they make you angry?  Disappointed?  Convicted?  Do they encourage you or teach you or help you in some way?

It is amazing to me what reading from Matthew 5-7 did for my heart.  It reminded me of what it meant to be blessed.  It reminded me of what was missing from part of my life.  It showed me where I needed to seek forgiveness and where I need to take some stronger stands.  My life is  not perfect – it needs the encouraging, inspiring, penetrating words of scripture too.  Do you need words that help you become ready to respond, reinforces righteousness, redeems relationships?  Then don’t look for it anywhere other than in scripture.

Read on my friends – read on!
